How to Make Baked Feta

written by Ariana Negri

What is Baked Feta Pasta?

If you’re in a long-lasting relationship with carbs, this baked feta pasta dish could wind up being your new side piece.

Think: pasta, cherry tomatoes and a big ol’ chunk of feta cheese all coming together into gooey deliciousness.

Ingredients

  • Pasta (preferably penne, rigatoni or fusilli)
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • A block of feta cheese
  • Garlic cloves
  • Olive oil
  • Basil
  • Salt and pepper

The How-To

After gathering the ingredients, the rest is pretty easy. Simply add the cherry tomatoes, feta block and seasonings into a baking dish. Drizzle the top with olive oil and sprinkle in some more salt and pepper. Bake it at 400F for 35 minutes. While that’s cookin’ (good lookin’), shift your attention to the pasta. If you don’t know how to cook pasta by now, are you okay?

After your feta dish is done, mix in the cooked pasta. Top it with basil, and that’s it. Simple enough, right? No cutting, no chopping, no major cleanup after a ridiculously hard recipe goes wrong. If you can boil pasta and stir, you got this.

Make it Fancy

Spice It Up

If you’re more into spicy dishes, we have the perfect variation for you. Mix in some red pepper flakes and drizzle honey on top for extra sweetness.

Top It Off

You could also try topping the dish with breadcrumbs after mixing the pasta with the feta. Sprinkle a good amount of parmesan cheese on top and stick it back in the oven until it’s evenly browned and slightly crispy.

More Protein, Please

If you want to bulk up the recipe with some added protein, try chicken, shrimp or whatever your heart desires. For all the vegetarians out there, roasted veggies or crispy falafel sounds amazing, too.

Different Cheeses

Some TikTokers claim that there has been a shortage of feta cheese in most grocery stores because of this viral recipe. But I don’t think you should be too hard-pressed to find some feta at your local store.

However, if feta isn’t in stock, or is simply not your thing, try it with goat cheese or burrata instead. You could even mix a bunch of different cheeses into one bake. Though, that may come out more like a classic mac and cheese dish.

Regardless of your dairy preferences, this recipe would remain delicious even when made with a different cheese.
