The Right Glassware for Your Drink

Cocktails

Picture this: you’ve retired to your study after dinner with your cigar, lounging on your leather sofa with this large balloon glass in hand, swirling barely an ounce of brandy.

Nothing says vacation time like something colorful and blended in a hurricane glass! The flared top makes for an excellent shape to hold all your favorite garnishes.

Beer

The pilsner glass is a staple! Appropriate for most light beers like lagers and blonde ales, the tall, slim design enhances carbonation while the wider mouth allows for the classic foamy head.

Tulips are a popular option for hoppy, malty beers (and are often the go-to when drinking a beer with a high ABV). These glasses encourage a good swirl(almost like you’re drinking wine!) to take in the aromas of the heavier brews.

Wine

Glasses for red wine are typically larger and rounder with a full bowl to increase the wine’s air contact, letting you get a good sniff in while also allowing for more oxidation to smooth out any bitterness.

White wine glasses tend to be smaller and more U-shaped than their red wine friends. This shape enhances the wine’s aroma and — because white wines are typically served chilled — maintains their temperature.
